Sharod was born and raised in Waterbury CT. After high school he went to Albertus Magnus where he received his undergraduate degree in business while playin on the basketball team being named GNAC conference rookie of the year and all leauge 2 times. He later received his Masters in Business from Western Governors Univeristy.
